Scholarship Program
The Thomas Armour Scholarship Program ensures that talented young dancers are never denied training due to financial limitations. Founded on the principles of inclusion, discipline, and community, the program awards scholarships based on talent, financial need, and available funding.

The Scholarship
- Tuition for ballet classes
- Required dance attire (based on funding availability)
- Ongoing support through evaluations and mentorship
When family circumstances improve, partial self-funding may be requested to help expand the program to more students.
Apply for a Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded based on demonstrated financial need. To apply, please submit the completed form along with required financial documentation.
Required Documents
Most recent federal tax return (Form 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ) OR W-2 forms or proof of benefits (e.g. social security, disability, ADC, welfare).
Application Information Needed
- Student name, age, date of birth, and current grade
- Contact information and home address
- Parent/Guardian details and household dependents
- How much you are able to contribute to tuition
- A brief description of any special family circumstances

Student & Parent Commitment
All scholarship recipients and their parents/guardians must agree to the following:
General Guidelines
- Attend all scheduled classes on time, including the Saturday Male Class (for male students).
- Notify TAYB (305-667-5543) in advance if unable to attend class.
- Undergo evaluations every 6 months based on attendance, attitude, behavior, focus, and progress.
- Follow the dress code:
- Girls: Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun.
- Boys: Black tights, white leotard or t-shirt tucked in, white ballet shoes.
- No gum chewing or eating in class; dispose of trash properly.
Code of Ethics
- Act as a role model—demonstrate respect, discipline, and compassion.
- No disruptive behavior, bullying, or disrespectful conduct.
- No use of tobacco, drugs, or alcohol.
- Students represent TAYB within the community and during travel.
- Participate in community outreach, performances, and the annual “Friends & Family” concert.
- Advanced students are encouraged to give back through teaching or assisting on Saturdays.
